It’s a gymnastics-filled winter

London Beje Gymnastics athletes have a busy winter season ahead, both among competitive athletes and recreational gymnasts!

By the time most kids were preparing for the holiday season, Beje Gymnastics competitive athletes had already started their first competitions for the 2019-2020 season. In fact, tumbling athletes were out competing at the 1st Ontario Cup on December 1.

“This was an important starting point of the season, with the potential for big relief if every athlete made their qualifying scores for April when Ontario Championships takes place in Kingston,” said Coach Nick.

As predicted, the competition was tough. But all Beje athletes did a wonderful job, and after achieving their qualifying scores, the athletes began pushing for higher and harder difficulty at the next meet in February.

Only a weekend later, on December 6, it was the boys artistic athletes’ turn to compete in Mississauga at their 1st Ontario Cup. With a new perspective at a level higher than last year, the Beje boys performed new routines with harder skills that they have acquired this season. All athletes are progressing and building up their skills and confidence for the next competition, with a goal set to be achieved by March of competing at the Ontario Championships.

Meanwhile, December was also the month that marked the end of the Fall Session for Recreational program athletes. After a few weeks of holiday break, Winter Session commences January 13. Visit our website at www.londonbejegymnastics.com or contact us at 519-777-5208 for more information.

Even though the holiday season is a time for rest for athletes, it was a time for coaches to upgrade their knowledge and abilities to the next level. Beje Gymnastics hosted an Introduction Competition Level 1 coaches course between December 27-30. Among participants included young coaches over 16 years of age who had already completed their Foundation in Gymnastics level.

Beje Gymnastics hopes that everyone had a happy holiday season, and we now look forward to a great year ahead – a 2020 full of happiness and success at all levels of gymnastics!
