This summer marks the 11th year of the Runners’ Choice London Distance Series. Hosted by the London Runner Distance Club, Athletics Ontario officials, and volunteers, these track meets feature middle and long-distance running events that have become a staple for local athletes and competitive runners across Ontario and beyond.

Each meet will take place on a Sunday evening at TD Stadium, and will feature races ranging from 800m up to 10,000m. The series kicks off on May 10 with the London 10,000m, which will act as the Ontario and Canadian 10,000m Championships. The May 10 event will be preceded by a community 3k Fun Run, at the low cost of $3, after which participants can watch some of the fastest men and women in Canada compete for their respective national titles.

Other annual events in the Distance Series include the Forest City 5,000m on May 17 and Trackie Mania on June 7. Another event, 1,500m Night, which is one of the most popular meets in Canada, is scheduled for June 21 and will be expected to once again showcase the deepest 1,500m field in the country. The London Series finale will take place on June 28.
Parking and admission is free for all RCLDS meets – spectators are always welcome! For more information, including tentative schedules, visit: www.londondistanceseries.ca.
