The end of the calendar year often leads many of us to look back and reflect on what we have accomplished over the past 12 months. The coaches of the Family Karate Competition Team are no different, and this year we are incredibly proud of our team members.

Most recently, the team continued our giving tradition by assembling and donating gift bags to Pathways Skill Development in downtown London.

In late November, five team members finished their months-long test procedure and years-long journey to a black belt. Nathan, Eccaia, Kaleb, Owen, and Nicole put in tremendous effort in their final tests and should be proud of their hard work.

One final team note comes out of Markham, where, on December 9, rookie team member Jada competed in a tournament and came away with 5th and 8th place finishes in deep divisions.

Looking ahead to 2018, the team will be holding tryouts on January 20, and the coaches are looking forward to seeing veteran members come back out as well as welcoming new members interested in joining the team.

The coaches wish to thank all the parents, family members, friends, and team members for all their hard work and support this year. Here’s to all that 2018 holds!
