Seienchin succeeds in Que

The athletes from Dojo Seienchin in London, Ontario had the chance to represent Ontario and Canada on August 5, 2017 in the Pan American Shitoryu Karate Do Tournament, held in Gatineau, Quebec.

The dojo brought nine athletes and returned with 12 medals (three gold, five silver, and four bronze).

Gold-medal recipients included Sensei Veronica Ramos (Masters kata), Lurik Sejdija (kata), and Juan Pablo Sanchez-Urrutia (kata). Meanwhile, Joshua Ruiz (kata), Matthew Ruiz (kumite), Isabella Sejdija (kumite), Juan Pablo Sanchez-Urrutia (kumite) and Susana Lugo (kata) earned silver medals. And Joshua Ruiz (kumite), Matthew Ruiz (kata), Isabella Sejdija (kata) and Susana Lugo (kumite) came home with bronze medals. Sabina Marques (kata) had a 5th-place showing, while a special sportsmanship award went to Elizabeth Lugo.

Our athletes have been competing in all Ontario Karate Federation provincial tournaments, and have been enjoying excellent performances and bringing home a lot of medals. We’re very proud of them all!
