In Karate, we train to be our best and become totally confident of our abilities. Our best means that we are strong, fast, and fit. We are wise enough to acknowledge danger is real, and to avoid it at all costs. We are taught to talk our way out of a confrontation, and walk away if provoked; only using karate to protect ourselves if necessary. As a Martial Artist, we are not worried about the bully, because we spend hours in the dojo getting stronger, faster, and fitter.
Our confidence doesn’t just stop at our Martial Arts skills: we are the ones to raise our hands and answer a question correctly, we are the ones who stand up for what is right, and we are the ones who get help when something is really wrong. We know the difference between “tattle tales” and asking for help when we need it. We, the students of Olympic Karate, work to be the best we can be, inside and outside the dojo, and we exhibit our hard work by leading by example. Thanks to our sensei’s lessons and our hard work, we are totally confident in our abilities.
