Team London junior golfers continue to develop their skills to prepare and compete in the 2017 tournament season. The year started with MJT regional tournaments and qualifiers into Golf Ontario’s Provincial events, and a few local golfers have had a great start to the season and enjoyed outstanding experiences.

These golfers are part of the London area’s nationally-recognized program, the London Junior Golf Development Centre (LJGDC). Two Team London members, Carson DeThomasis and Cameron Kellett, have qualified to battle at the highest level provincially and compete in national junior events. Cam participated in Golf Canada’s Future Links Ontario Championship in Brockville, Ontario in June, and achieved a T40 finish (77, 74, 77). Both Carson and Cam have qualified to participate in Golf Ontario’s Junior Boys Championship in early July at the Rock Golf Course.

Cam and Carson are joined in the Team London program with 13 new competitors (aged 9 to 14), 11 developing juniors (14 to 18), and three advanced juniors on U.S. scholarships. The juniors are led by award-winning PGA Professional Brian Gallant, who has a great passion to further each junior’s golf game and life skills.
