The spring season was full of excitement at the London Junior Golf Development Centre. Our Active Start program (ages 5 and under) was full of smiles and fun. The Girls Club London program had a new format and received positive praise all around. And the PGA Junior League saw a spring season with six teams practicing and competing. Overall, the spring season was a great success.
PGA Junior League Golf – Spring Season Review
Our “Little League” design was a huge success with a community of juniors and parents enjoying the game. Our six teams practiced weekly and competed on the course in a team format twice a month. With on-course play at Oxbow Glen Golf Course, Llyndinshire Golf Course and FireRock Golf Club, the juniors experienced a wide variety of situations. Stay tuned to see our spring championship team. We are excited for our summer season!
Team London – Spring Season Review
The journey to excellence in golf — and life — continued through the spring. Juniors participated in various events hosted by the GAO, CJGA and MJT, with the focus being on staying in the present moment. The juniors see the events as a chance to grow and learn instead of viewing losses as a sign of lack of ability.
Highlights include a strong performance by Ryan and Logan at the Canadian High School Federation event, along with Carson and Logan in MJT events. Cam, Russell and Nic performed well at the Seaforth Junior Invitational. Finally, congratulations to Drake and Tatiana for qualifying for the Ontario Summer Games.
It will be a busy summer, from the GAO Women’s Amateur and Ontario Summer Games to the MJT Whistle Bear event and the CJGA event at Greenhills, along with a busy Tyson Tour involvement.
