The late fall season at the Power Cheer Gym was packed with competition successes and a ton of team building both inside the gym and in the community.
The Western Mustangs swept the Large Coed and All-Girl divisions at the 2015 Collegiate Nationals in Toronto. It was a hard fought finish for a first National title for the All-Girl program and an unbelievable 30th win for the powerhouse coed ‘Stangs. Both teams will head to the CheerSport Nationals in Atlanta in mid-February, where the Coed team has won four previous times.
Power Cheer Gym is home to four collegiate-aged teams (Fanshawe Black Falcons and Crazy Fish, along with the Mustangs), and is the number one training facility in Canada for athletes wishing to pursue the sport after graduation from high school.
The Viper teams roared out of the gate early this year with solid placings in Youth (ages 7-11), Junior (11-14) and Senior (14-18) categories at the Cheer Evo Fall Classic in Toronto. In December, all nine Viper teams, including the Special Needs squad, competed at the Power Cheer Christmas Competition in Strathroy, a charity fundraiser with proceeds going to the Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre.
We’re frequently asked, “can we still join a team now that the season has started?” – and the answer is always YES! Every team and ability level has openings, and the gym offers a big discount on registration for athletes wishing to get involved mid-year. Interested athletes/parents are invited to call the gym (519)-667-0565 or drop in any day of the week to tour the facility and even participate in a team workout!
