Manal Birani
Forest City Volleyball Club
Manal Birani, a grade 12 student at Saunders Secondary School, has been a member of the Forest City Volleyball Club for five years, first joining as a grade 8 student. She is a natural athlete, but it’s the work ethic and the effort that Manal puts forth in practices and games that is admired most by her teammates and coaches.
At Saunders, Manal has always been one of the most reliable players on her high school’s volleyball team, as well as its basketball and badminton squads.
Manal is also very active as a coach within the Forest City Volleyball Club, as she is always busy helping younger players develop their skills. Specifically, she has coached both boys and girls in the Acorn development program at every session for more than three years. Not only does she share her volleyball knowledge, but she passes on to the kids her passion for the game.
Manal will be moving on to Western University after she graduates this spring. But she will continue to coach for FCVC and give back to the program that has meant so much to her over the years. Thank you for your contribution to athletics in your community, Manal!
