The competition was fierce. In an effort to do something nice as a thank you for those in the community, we set up a budget of $30,000 and held a giveaway as part of our 30th anniversary celebrations, taking submissions from the public and community groups.

In the end, three legacies were given.

The largest was a landscape improvement and wheelchair ramp that we constructed at a home for a family in the downtown/Old east area. The mom and dad and three kids live in a small house, and they needed a wheelchair ramp to help one of their kids, who has cerebral palsy, get in and out of the house. We also added a large shade tree and some other garden improvements. What fun it was to make their lives a little easier and enjoyable.

In South London, TLC performs the grounds care at Middlesex Condominium Corp 446. Condo grounds care is the core of our business, and we were excited to hear from a corporation who needed our help. The condo is a fairly recent conversion from a rental to a condominium, and their landscape and reserve budget were both in need of some help. Condo living is a great choice for folks, and we were happy to help improve the many building entranceways with some beautiful gardens.

Finally, we are connected to Woodcrest Community Pool on Village Green Ave. in Westmount, as one of our employees and his family are members at the pool. Over 120 families in the Westmount area pay a small membership fee to use this outdoor pool in the summer. It’s a vibrant, fun place, and especially useful during the hot summer months. The pool has a fairly long list of needed capital improvements. TLC made a $5,000 donation to this fund.

We at TLC Landscaping are thrilled to be able to give back to the communities who have been such loyal clients over the years.
