As the 2014-15 LBHA winter season winds down, there are a number of teams and individuals we would like to recognize for their accomplishments. In our tier 3 division, we had a tight race that eventually saw the “Boneheads” win out the regular season and the division title with an impressive 12-2-0 record. The Boneheads would eventually be upset in the semifinals by the Renegade-Leafer team who stymied their opponents’ offense and won two straight thrilling 1-0 games to advance to the finals. The Renegade-Leafers will try to win the Tier 3 title that they couldn’t obtain in the finals this past summer season.

In our Tier 4 division, we saw the newly formed team of the “Bombers” run an almost perfect season as they went 13-0-1 through the regular campaign and as of this writing had cruised through the playoffs and were only a game away from reaching the finals. It would take a monstrous upset to take place for the Bombers to not be in the finals, but their opponent, “The Bruisers”, had already accomplished such a feat as they upset the second seeded “Lunatics” (11-1-2) in the quarterfinal. As long as the Bruisers weren’t too content with that series victory, they certainly have the ability and the talent to upset the division’s top seed as well. Time will tell who will face the winner of the other semi, which features the Dicepticons (4th seed) and the South Kent Torment (3rd seed).

In our Ladies division, the “Slashers” took the regular season title with an impressive 11-1-0 record and had advanced to the semifinals at the time of this writing, awaiting their opponent (either the Legends, the 5th seed, or the Flying Elbows, the 4th seed). The other semi featured two solid teams who shared the same record through the regular season by going 10-2-0. That series should be truly a battle to see who gets to play for this year’s crown.
