The 2019 competition season is in full swing. At CheerStrike our philosophy – when it comes to competing – is to focus on more than just the results.
Of course, there is the moment when winning teams are announced and trophies are handed out, but there are so many more moments that take precedence for us. For instance, there’s the moment you arrive, all dressed in your team’s uniform, ready to share your anxiety and anticipation with each other. There’s the moment your coach gives you a pep talk before taking the floor, giving you the confidence to do your best. And there’s the moment you feel the adrenaline rush through you as you take the floor to perform.
Maybe there’s a mistake made while competing, and the moment arises that you need to overcome that disappointment and keep going for your team. There’s the moment you spot your smiling family’s faces, beaming with pride. There’s the team hug at the end of a successful run of a routine that you’ve been working on for months to perfect.
Can you control how the judges score your routine? No. Can you control how the other teams do? No. At CheerStrike, we encourage every athlete to be proud of themselves regardless of the results. This guarantees a positive competition experience, controlling what you can and accepting what you cannot. The feelings that each athlete leaves with from a competition are more important than whatever trophy an athlete takes home.
We can’t wait to see all our Royal teams take the floor in 2019! If you are interested in the programs that we offer, please visit our website at www.cheerstrikeroyals.com.
