“Working with athletes of all ages … from the tiniest tiny, to the ‘old kids’ on our collegiate teams; seeing their excitement as they hit a skill for the first time makes all the hard work worth it.” – Garrett, 11 yrs coaching, 7 yrs cheering

“I love coaching because I, myself, have been in the cheer world for so long, and it is the most rewarding feeling watching the athletes you coach fall in love with the sport just like I did. I also love watching them not only grow as athletes but as people, both inside and outside the sport.”Kim, 6 yrs coaching, 11 yrs cheering

“My favourite part about coaching is watching my team progress and achieve their goals. Throughout my own career, I found that having a coach that cares is the most important factor in success and enjoyment of the sport. I wanted to help my sport in a meaningful way, so helping these kids meet and achieve their goals makes me proud of how far they have come and what they can accomplish.”Max, 2 yrs coaching, 8 yrs cheering

“Cheerleading has been an outlet for me for the last 16 years. It has provided me with the ability to grow as an individual as well as a member of a team. It has helped me to inspire others to develop their passion and to create an environment for everyone of all abilities to fall in love with this amazing sport.”Brittany (Special Needs Coach), 8 yrs coaching, 4 yrs cheering

“My favourite thing about being a coach is to watch the athletes grow over the years and taking what you taught them as they move through the program.”Lauren, 4 yrs coaching, 4 yrs cheering

“My favourite part about coaching is getting to share my love for the sport with little hearts that love it too.”Joanna, 5 yrs coaching, 9 yrs cheerleading

“As corny as it sounds, the best part about coaching is seeing my athletes succeed – not only in the sport, but as students and as adults. Over my 38 years as a coach, the best memories and the best motivators to me are not the championships or the ‘wins,’ but the sharing of learning and personal development of my athletes over seasons, careers and lifetimes. Ideally, as the director of the Power Cheer Gym, I want all of our coaches to carry this same passion.”Coach Trace, 38 years coaching (UWO, PCG, FC, Team Canada, CCH), 6 cheering (UWO)
