As the summer winds down and the kids dread heading back to school, the PCG is gearing up for its 18th cheer season. Viper teams start at 4 years of age (Tiny Vipers) and run all the way up through Mini (6-8), Youth (7-11), Junior (11-14) and Senior (14-18). There are four different levels of competitive teams, and novices are always welcome. Our PCG Special Needs program also returns in September for its third season.

Athletes hoping to cheer for their high school officially now have no options in London, as the last and longest running high school program ceased operation in June. London was a hotbed for school cheering through the 1980’s and into the 2000’s, but lack of coaches and school support has been the sport’s death knell. Luckily, the Power Cheer Gym offers a great alternative for high school athletes of all skill levels who are yearning to cheer, tumble and participate in this high energy multi-disciplined sport. The PCG is also a great starting point for those looking to cheer beyond high school; the PCG is home to three of the Nation’s top Collegiate Cheerleading teams.

In August, over 50 athletes attended an elite skills development camp at PCG which featured numerous guest instructors, including Blase Rhine (Stingrays – Atlanta) and Shae Book (Western Mustangs and 2x World Champion; Great White Sharks). Those in attendance walked away with new skills, lasting memories and a fresh outlook for the fall season.

The Vipers will once again be taking part in the London Knights’ Home Opener in September and have lots of fun activities planned for the fall, including a “Trunk or Treat” Halloween Street Party, themed practices and movie nights at the gym.
