The Bluewater Cup is the world’s first ever TGA Premier Junior Golf international golf tournament, and Team Canada was the brainchild of TGA London franchise owners Joe and Sue Barnes and Brian Miller. Team USA was created by TGA Southeast Michigan franchise owner Dave Robinson. Together, the Bluewater Cup was created. Accolades were heaped upon the event and the organizers from all over North America, as it was a great success!
Twelve players representing Team Canada and 12 players representing Team USA tee’d it up at the Holiday Inn Golf Club in Sarnia, Ontario to duke it out in a best ball team format.
What made the tournament so special, besides the many parents, grandparents, volunteers and coaches on hand, was the fact that the players were aged 4 to 14.
Yes, that’s not a typo. Players from TGA London who were merely 4 years of age played in this extraordinary event. Not only that, but the TGA London 4-year-olds played extremely well against players almost twice their age. Kudos are due to their parents and coaches for such great preparation.
All TGA London/Team Canada players were exceptional in every way, especially as great ambassadors and hosts to their American counterparts who won the gold medal (four matches to two) and the Bluewater Cup 2015 edition.
