Komoka Dragons Jr. A Hockey Club

The Komoka Dragons are a first-year hockey franchise in the Greater Metro Hockey League, (GMHL) Jr. “A” Hockey League for the 2015-2016 Season. The Dragons are owned by Mr. Bob Bernstein, who has worked for the GMHL head office since the 2010/2011 hockey season, both as commissioner and as a member of the league’s executive committee.

The first order of business was to bring in an experienced General Manager.  Michael Fish will bring his 5 years of GMHL experience as well OHL hockey knowledge to the team, and try to repeat his success in the 2013/2014 season when he had won a GMHL Championship as General Manager of the Bradford Bulls hockey club.

Management did not stop there. Dragon’s owner has announced the hiring of Josh Beaulieu to lead the Komoka Dragons for this upcoming season. Josh Beaulieu had a storied career in this town, playing 4 years in the Ontario Hockey League for the London Knights. Not only winning a Memorial Cup with the Knights, Josh went on to play in the AHL as well as play and coach in the ECHL for the Evansville Icemen.

We are looking forward to a highly successful season playing out of the Komoka Wellness Centre. You can follow the team and stay up to date with the Dragons at our website http://www.komokadragons.com and on our Facebook and Twitter sites.

Mr. Bernstein and his team operate a first-class program devoted to the development of young hockey players, both on and off the ice. This is achieved with a management team that is familiar with high-level hockey. The proof is in the numbers.  The management team has had a successful history in player development and advancement, sending over 40 players on to NCAA college hockey, as well as several other players to Major Jr, as well as professional hockey, both in Europe as well as North America.
