Winter leagues are under way, and the Spring/Summer seasons will be starting in May! Connect Sports is looking forward to offering seven leagues this summer, including new sports such as Ultimate Frisbee, Flag Football and Beach Dodgeball.
The goal from day one has been to provide affordable, fun sports and social events with a strong tie-in to charity. We also encourage members to add input and suggestions to our leagues, and that has been key to our growth. The leagues are formed to serve our members, and we always make the experience a fun time! The slogan says it all: ‘We Organize, You Socialize.’
Sports & Charity
There is nothing better than winning a sports league and choosing a charity that Connect Sports London will donate to. Since our inception in July, 2014, we have donated over $1,100 to various charities in the greater London area.
“These leagues are fantastic, and I enjoy the charity aspect,” said Josip Stimac of Kilworth FC. “It’s an unreal feeling to win a league, receive championship t-shirts and a trophy and then be able to donate to a charity that is important to our team.”
Sports League System
We have divided our Sport Leagues into two categories:
1) Leagues with qualified referees to make all calls.
2) Leagues with sport leaders to monitor leagues and resolve situations when teams cannot come to a compromise.
Conducting market research in the community over the past year has allowed us to create a two-tier league system. A number of adult sport leagues, even though for fun, still need a non-biased party present to make calls and judgments. Running certain leagues without referees can lead to arguments and upset members. Therefore, we have separated our leagues into two categories, and the results have been fantastic. Running well-organized, fun and affordable leagues is our mandate, and we look forward to adding many more Londoners into the Connect Sports World!
