Tanner da Silva is the epitome of a hard worker. The 16-year-old has been cheerleading for nine years with Power Cheer Gym, and he still comes in early and stays late, putting in extra time in gymnastics to strengthen his game.

The friendly teen, who lives in London and attends Mother Theresa high school, is looking forward to post-secondary school in the future. Outside of his own athletic endeavours, da Silva is a volunteer coach with a special needs team, and he assists David-Lee Tracey, head coach and owner of Power Cheer Gym, with many tasks around the facility.

Impressively, the 16-year-old has overcome a variety of health issues in his young life, and he has come away stronger as a result. An ‘all-around wonderful kid’, da Silva is a worthy scholarship winner.
