The Elgin Middlesex Chiefs’ Minor Midget team started their season off strong at the Toronto Titans Minor Midget tournament. The team went 3-0-1 during round robin play, allowing only two goals against! They ultimately bowed out in the quarter-finals after losing to the Vaughan Kings.

In Alliance league play, the team opened with a .500 record into mid-October. They went 2-2 at the Alliance Showcase in St. Marys from Sept. 25-27. Next up was the Wendy Dufton Tournament in London.

Coach James Kennedy says the team’s main goal is to be better than they were the day before each time they hit the ice. They are also working at having fewer goals against. The team is working hard to achieve these goals every practice!

Chiefs’ Atom teams get a feel for the big time!

The Major Atoms started their season off with a team day trip to Kitchener for back-to-back games along with a team dinner and some mini golf! Their next trip will take them to Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan where they will be playing prior to a Detroit Red Wings game.

The Minor atoms recently took the ice at Budweiser Gardens with one of the coaches from the London Knights running the practice. This was followed by two of the team’s players going on the ice to stand on the blue line with the starting line of the Knights for the national anthem. They then remained as a team to watch and cheer on the Knights vs. the Windsor Spitfires.
