London Annihilators Wheelchair Rugby Club
The 2016-2017 season has begun, and the London Annihilators are looking forward to defending their national championship title!
This month’s player spotlight is on Peter Langenecker. “Moose” is a longtime member of the Annihilators and has competed for Ontario at multiple national championships. Moose earned his nickname due to his incredible brute strength and tenacious, bullheaded style of play. Peter is training hard and looking forward to the upcoming season!
Moose and the rest of the Annihilators practice every Saturday at 1pm in Dorchester at the Flight Exec Centre.

Blizzard Season Kicks Off!
The London Blizzard Sledge Hockey team has started practices for the 2016-17 season, and our first home games are set for Sunday, October 23 from 1:45 to 4:45pm at the Western Fair. Everyone is welcome to come out and see our first action of the year! The two London teams are also preparing for the Cruisers Cup tournament in Toronto in November.
Sledge hockey is a sport primarily for disabled athletes where players sit on a sledge and propel themselves around the ice using two specially-designed sticks with pics at the top of the shaft. With few exceptions, the rules are the same as those in stand-up hockey. The sport was developed in Norway about 25 years ago as a form of recreational therapy. There are now competitive teams that display tremendous skill and determination. We are always looking for new players, so come out and give it a try!
Practices are Wednesdays at 6:45pm at Western Fair. For more information, contact Todd at toddsargeant@hotmail.com.
