Fanshawe Men’s Volleyball Signs Top Recruit Sebastian Lethbridge
Canadian National Team member commits to the Falcons
(London, Ontario) – The Fanshawe Falcons Men’s Volleyball program is proud to announce the addition of Team Canada 18U member, Sebastian Lethbridge, to their roster for the upcoming season. The 6’2” setter from London, Ontario is enrolled in Fanshawe’s General Arts and Sciences program.
Lethbridge was a member of the 18U Canadian team this past year. He was also captain of the 18U Team Ontario squad that won the gold medal at the National Team Challenge Cup in Edmonton, Alberta. His accolades do not stop there; as he also played for the top tier London Volleyball Club team. He was named a National All-Star at the 18U Club National Championships, as well as winning the Ken Davies Award for top male athlete in the Ontario Volleyball Association. Lethbridge was also the 2015 “Mr. Volleyball” Award winner for being the best player in London high-school volleyball, where he played for Oakridge High School.
“It’s great to get an opportunity to work with Sebastian again this season”, said Men’s Volleyball Head Coach, Patrick Johnston. “I’ve coached him for two years already, but college is much different. Being able to share the gym six days a week allows us to really work on development. We had a great core returning, but adding recruits like Sebastian will really ramp up the intensity of practices this season. I think it’s going to be a very competitive season.”
Lethbridge added, “I am very excited to be joining and working with such a talented group at Fanshawe. I have been fortunate enough to have been coached by Coach Johnston before and I know he has a lot of volleyball knowledge that I hope to gain from him this year! Go Falcons!”
Lethbridge and the Falcons will begin their pre-season on Monday, September 28th when they host the Redeemer Royals at 8pm. Fanshawe will see their first home regular season action on Thursday, October 29th at 8pm versus the Conestoga Condors.
