They really outdid themselves in 2017. Through their annual ‘Turkey Bowl’ to raise money for Childcan, Preferred Insurance & Partners smashed their fundraising goal and set a new record by bringing in an impressive $51,280 this year – and all for a fantastic cause.
The Preferred Insurance Turkey Bowl started small (but with a big dream) 11 years ago as a thank you to its business partners. It has since evolved into a huge hospitality, networking and charitable event. The goal for 2017 was to raise $35,000 for Childcan, and thanks to the partnership and generosity of more than 100 business partners, the goal was surpassed and a new record set at $51,280.
“Every year we dream it bigger and better, and every year we make it happen,” said Peter Carr from Preferred Insurance. “The Turkey Bowl is a special day for our business partners, as we invite them to connect with us on a mission to raise money for Childcan. They are an amazing organization that helps families navigate emotionally and financially after receiving a childhood cancer diagnosis.”
The biggest transformation this year came from partnering with BELFOR Property Restoration, and the company became the Signature Event Partner. The move substantially helped take it to another level.
“We’re very grateful for their continued partnership,” said Carr. “The Turkey Bowl is a fun day with a special purpose, and it is proof that many hands joining together can accomplish something truly outstanding.”
Including some business partner-inspired fundraising drives, Preferred Insurance has now raised more than $250,000 over the past six years.
The 2017 edition had some special partner contributions – including from Holiday Inn & Suites – London South, The Angry Goat Public House, New Era Graphix, Scherba’s Great Floors, Classic Rock – FREE 98.1FM, and Railway City Brewing. These businesses are greatly appreciated.
Meanwhile, All-Star Partners who made special excess donations beyond regular partnership amounts included:
Gore Mutual Insurance Company – $5,000
CARSTAR London East / CARSTAR London West / Downtown Auto Glass – $4,500
Enterprise Rent-A-Car – $2,500
Biosweep Canada – $1,500
Heartland Farm Mutual – $5,000
“We’re extremely proud and grateful to have such fantastic partners,” said Carr. “Together, we raised $51,280 in one amazing day!”
