A few short years ago, Mike Ellis was running a few hockey camps for kids in St. Thomas. At the time of this writing, he was on his way to the NHL Entry draft with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and he’s still celebrating a Calder Cup championship.
And as if he wasn’t busy enough already, Ellis Hockey Detail has just signed into a partnership with Victus Academy in Kitchener to handle all on-ice development for the elite private hockey school.
The Academy is an independent private school designed for both male and female elite hockey players in grades 7 through 12. Victus Academy provides the best of two disciplines – university-level schooling, combined with elite competitive hockey skills training, while still allowing students to play on their rep hockey teams.
Both hockey and academics are pursued with the same vigour, excellence and competitiveness at Victus Academy, and the school ensures that the curriculum is designed to accommodate the hockey program and the other strenuous demands placed on the elite athlete.
Victus Academy is not for everyone. Successful applicants are those individuals who not only possess high-level hockey skills and academic ability, but who are also ready for the rigors and demands of the highly-competitive school.
