Snipe Academy continues to have a significant impact on the London hockey community, as young players are improving their skills and becoming better all-around hockey players thanks to the top-notch instruction they’re receiving at the facility. Snipe has put together a talented group of coaches and instructors, both male and female, who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to teach the next generation of players. Here’s a look at just two of those instructors …
Austin Osmanski
Osmanski, who was born and raised just outside of Buffalo, NY, works Project ice and the Skills and Shooting classes at Snipe Academy. After playing for the Buffalo Regals in his youth, Osmanski made his way into the OHL as a defenseman, splitting time between the Mississauga Steelheads and Peterborough Petes over a four-year career that spanned more than 250 games. During that time, in 2016, Osmanski was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the seventh round. Following his OHL career, he enrolled at Western University, where he currently plays for the Mustangs. In his first season in 2019-2020, the 21-year-old tallied eight points in 26 regular season games while playing strong on the blueline.
April Clark
Clark joined Snipe after a highly impressive fourth-year season with the Western Mustangs’ Women’s hockey team in 2018-2019, where she led all U Sports players in scoring and was named OUA MVP, Forward of the Year, and a 1st Team All-Star (she also earned 1st Team All-Canadian honours). A native of St. Mary’s, Clark was also named Western’s Female Athlete of the Year. Clark previously led Western to an OUA championship, and she is now completing her fifth and final season with the Mustangs. During the regular campaign, she was fifth in the OUA with 22 points. Clark, a nursing student, also spent two summers playing for USports All Star team at the Canadian National Development camp in Calgary.
