One of the questions most often asked of Dance Extreme is, ‘At what age can my child start taking dance?’ You may be surprised to learn that Dance Extreme offers classes for even the youngest movers – and their parents. The Move Together program is designed for children 18 to 36 months old and their parents/caregivers to develop a joy of movement and dance together. These classes combine structured activities with free dance, play, and movement exploration. Even at this young age, our Move Together dancers develop gross motor and listening skills while exploring dance in a creative and encouraging environment.
Says Mya Sponseller, a mother of two: “My daughter and I completed two sessions of the Move Together Class at Dance Extreme. I’m so happy my daughter was able to start learning dance at such a young age and that I was able to be a part of it. Both teachers we had were energetic and kept the kids (and adults) interested and engaged. The dance steps are learned by using fun songs, relays, and games. We loved learning new steps and exercises each week. Thanks to this class, my daughter is prepared to move on to the next level and dance in a class without me. We cannot wait to continue classes this fall at Dance Extreme.”
“Children need high-quality time with parents and caregivers—that is what is most beneficial to children and what can have a positive effect on them as they grow” (Alvarado).
Move Together classes take place in 12-week sessions, which allow you and your child to spend this quality time together doing an activity that benefits the mind, body and the bond that you share with your child. Our Fall Session begins on September 14 and continues for 12 weeks.
