In October, the London Curling Club had the opportunity to host the Academy of Curling, an event that featured a trio of curling greats. Those in attendance included: Russ Howard, a two-time world champion and Olympic gold medalist, and a curling analyst on TSN; Mary-Ann Arsenault, a five-time Canadian champion and two-time world champion; and Grant Odishaw, who played in eight Brier tournaments and is a former Canadian mixed champion.
Over the three days, 180 curlers participated in four sessions at the London Curling Club, a facility that offers leagues throughout the day – every day of the week except for Saturday (which is reserved for bonspiels and rentals). The historic Club, which dates all the way back to 1847, currently has more than 600 members.
