Huff N’ Puff Hockey is a pickup hockey league for seniors aged 55+ that features fun and exercise (and some good hockey action!).
Formed in the 1980’s, Huff N’ Puff has been going strong as an enjoyable way for ‘oldtimers’ to stay healthy and in shape. And, as current convenor Steve Holmes says, “to experience Canada’s game the way it should be – as an object of love.”
The group plays twice a week at London Sports Park (99 Brookside Street), and all abilities are welcome. Holmes encourages anyone with a love for the game to give Huff N’ Puff a try. He’s been playing hockey recreationally with coworkers since the late 70’s, and he signed up with Huff N’ Puff in 2010. He played as a captain on a team in 2015-16.
“The group is like a family,” says Holmes, who was elected to the executive in 2014 and also served one term as President (in 2016). “And there’s a common love for the game.”
