As of this writing, the London Senior Games was more than two-thirds complete. Pickleball, held over two days, was the most popular event. LSG participants have completed in Bocce, Tennis, Euchre, Bid Euchre, Pickleball, Darts, 5-Pin Bowling (teams and singles), Carpet Bowling, 18-Hole Golf, 12-Hole Golf, Cribbage, Snooker, Mini-Golf, Prediction Walking, Floor Shuffleboard, and Contract Bridge.
Next on the Summer Games schedule was Lawn Bowling, Slo-Pitch, and Horseshoes. It is an exhausting schedule, and we appreciate everybody’s good nature and sense of fun in participating.
The gold medal winners in most of the events qualify for the Ontario 55+ Games, which will be held in Midland, Ontario from Aug 9-11, 2016. We hope to have enough people going to Midland to take a full busload from District 30 London and the surrounding area!
Barry Fay, one of our members at large, will have participated in seven London Senior Games events. He has also convened and played in the golf events for us. Well done, Barry!
Go, London, Go!
Our committee will start planning the Winter Games when we resume our meetings in September. The gold medal winners in the Winter Games in District 30 London will qualify for the Ontario 55+ Games being held in Cobourg, Ontario from Feb. 21-23, 2017. What fun we have!
We are always looking for volunteers! Come and be part of the Senior Games!
