Life lessons

Springtime means graduation at Dance Extreme, which has seen many, many wonderful students pass on through the studio over the years.

There comes a time in our lives when we must say goodbye and prepare to move on to other adventures. At the time, it is often hard to look past where we currently stand and let go of what we have held so close — what we have shared, and whom we have shared it with. That time is Graduation! As teens depart high school and venture off to post-secondary schools, or full-time jobs, or travel, they often take a few moments to look back and appreciate what got them to where they are today.

Anyone who has ever been involved on a sports or dance team can attest that saying goodbye is not easy. Dance Extreme has said goodbye to many wonderful students who spent many years of their lives dedicated to dancing with us. Here is what one student had to say about the impacts that dance and Dance Extreme has had on her …

“Growing up as a competitive dancer at Dance Extreme has taught me many life skills that have shaped who I am, how I interact with others and my general outlook on life. Dance has provided me with skills, such as time management and organization, as well as embedded various characteristics like devotion, trust and ambition. Throughout the years I have been blessed to be taught by numerous brilliant choreographers who have each inspired me in their own way. I credit them for shaping the dancer and person that I am today due to the time, energy and care that they consistently put into my training. My teachers have not only modeled me into the dancer that I am today, but they have instilled vital values such as self worth and confidence. I can only hope that I will be given the opportunity to impact the lives of others as those at Dance Extreme have done for me.” – Kiana Simler-Fuoco (DX dancer for 15 years).

There is beauty in watching a child grow through your program and blossom year after year. We would like to wish all of our past graduates, and those still to come, all the best in their future endeavours and thank them for choosing us and making our studio their second home.
