On Sept 11, 2015, the longstanding business of Bowlerama Royale attracted new owners! Mark Decman, Brenda Dottermann and Sean Thomas, never ones to shy away from a challenge, were attracted to the competitive/recreational bowling centre for several reasons. Many projects have been undertaken since to provide the necessary upgrades to the facilities, the menu, and most importantly, the customer service!
It seems that the building at 2086 Dundas St. was always destined to be a bowling centre. From its inception as Town Bowl, its transition to London Roller Palace, then London Furniture, and then back again to Bowlerama Royale, many Londoners would recognize this as a place where they bowled or roller skated in their youth. And today, their children may be enjoying the highly successful Youth Program on Saturday mornings.
Bowlerama Royale’s Youth Program, headed by Paul Rideout, can boast about its Canadian record breaking London youths, like Mykaela Mitchell (first London youth to be awarded Canadian Bowler of the Year, 2015) and Cole Sitzes (at just 12 years old, having recently broken the 4 Game Youth Total in Woodbridge, ON). Having seen Rebekah Loker recently win Senior Girls Youth Singles and Brayden Vaughan win Junior Boys Youth Singles for all of Ontario, we are pleased to say how proud we are of all our youth bowlers, coordinators and their coaches. We have a dedicated talent pool that will be a force for the future!
With an on-site Pro Shop, a Licenced Bar, 27,000 square feet of space and 32 immaculate 10-pin lanes, it’s a great venue for community Fundraisers! Spinal Cord Injury Ontario raised over $21,000 at their event on March 21, and on Apr. 4 Canadian Tire’s Jumpstart program held a small but mighty event to raise funds for assisting financially challenged youth to participate in sport. Fierce competition ensued for the highest two-ball total!
