The art of dance is often portrayed as being a skill that is only pursued for a long period of time and by those who have the perfect body type and who can perfect technique and performance. It is often true that only the most passionate who possess these skills continue on to dance professionally. However, the ability to dance is within everyone, and Dance Extreme offers something for everyone and everybody.
This Fall, Dance Extreme began a new 8-week program for parents and tots aged 18-36 months to enjoy. This first ‘Move Together’ dance class experience provides the opportunity for parent/caregiver and tot to develop a joy of movement and dance together. Students develop gross motor skills and explore dance in a creative and encouraging environment. Structured activities are balanced with the opportunity for free dance play and movement exploration.
The joy of natural movement begins early. We often witness our youngest children moving carefree and natural to the music they hear. It is wonderful if you can harness this natural creativity and love of moving. Dance Extreme’s Creative Movement program is structured on that premise that children learn basic dance techniques through free movement games and activities, while we focus on building gross motor skills like running, jumping, galloping, skipping, walking and balancing.
When children reach the age of 5, they have the opportunity to diversify a little further with our Movers and Shakers and Tumblers Programs. These programs offer more skilled instruction in Ballet & Jazz (in Movers & Shakers) and Acro and Jazz (in Tumblers).
As children grow older and wish to take more classes, they are able try different disciplines and diversify even further with their dance training. The info graphic on this page provides the natural progression for dance instruction at Dance Extreme. For more information, visit us online.
