The Junction Climbing Club’s ‘Kids that Rock!’ program has wrapped up a successful first year. The Climbing Centre opened in London in July of 2014 and has quickly become popular with families for being a place where people of all ages can come enjoy the exciting challenge of indoor rock climbing.
For kids wanting a regular climbing experience, we’ve now offered three sessions of ‘Kids that Rock’ — our weekly youth program — and are excited to be hosting a fourth session this coming fall. ‘Kids that Rock’ is divided into three age groups and each spends 10 weeks learning climbing skills, climbing techniques, and above all else, doing lots of climbing!
Ascenders is our youngest age group, open to youth aged 6 and 7. For Ascenders, the focus is on maximizing climbing time to build strength and confidence. Biners are aged 8 through 12. Knot and belay skills are introduced in this age group, as is extra climbing challenges like ascending and pulleys. Crimpers is our oldest group, for youths aged 13 and over. Crimpers focus more extensively on technique and body position to help them climb as hard as possible. All climbing is led by our friendly and knowledgeable staff in a fun and supportive environment.
Our Fall Session starts on Monday Sept 21. Kids are provided all necessary equipment, and are also given a membership during the 10 weeks of the program. Write us at info@junctionclimbing.com for more information.
