BodyWorx Trainers Tania and Matt are dedicated to training our young athletes to optimize their abilities and prevent injuries. Strength training plays a large role in building explosive strength and reactiveness, but also in supporting joints to minimize repetitive or acute injury.

We are now in the next phase of training with the LFA Soccer and Sharks Volleyball Club – beginning with SAQ (Speed, Agility and Quickness) to build collateral muscle, tendon and ligament strength, and now transitioning into plyometric and loaded strength training.

Weights and kids are completely safe if done the right way. And our program’s emphasis is to do things right! Athletes must complete and continue to train in functional multi-movement exercises throughout the strength training phase.

We’ve brought the athletes back into the gym after the summer of outdoor training. This winter season’s goals are to introduce the kids to plyometric strength, with a transition into some loaded exercises. Training with a certified trainer who has the expertise with youth supports and translates to all sports.
