Forest City Diving Club (FCDC) is a nationally-recognized club that produces high performance athletes. Over the past few years, FCDC has been ranked between No. 3 and No. 8 in the country – thanks to the results of their athletes at Junior National Diving Championships. And the Club has been ranked No. 1 in Ontario.

The success of its athletes is due to a high-calibre coaching staff. Luda Zakharenko has been with FCDC since 2009. She has brought to the club her own personal international experience as a National level diver and the experience from serving as the Principal of the Belarussian State Academy of Sports. Luda has been the driving force in instilling the passion of diving in her young athletes and leading them to success at the National and International levels.

Luda has been awarded Coach of the Year by Dive Ontario on several occasions, and she is a recipient of the ‘Good to Great’ Coach Award from the Coaches Association of Ontario. During her spare time, she enjoys visiting her family in Ottawa, where she has two grandsons.

Meanwhile, the newest member of the FCDC coaching staff is Wing Yun Hu. Wing came to the Club right after the 2016 Rio Olympics after retiring as the head coach of the Venezuelan National Team. Wing, who is originally from Wuhan, China, was a National Level diver for Team China and has also worked with National Diving teams from Indonesia and Venezuela. He brings forth new ideas and expertise that will continue to strengthen the FCDC program for all athletes, whether competitive and recreational. Wing has a young family with two children.

The PLOUF Program

With the Club’s wealth of knowledge and experience, the FCDC recreational program, PLOUF, has developed into a strong foundation program that offers the fundamentals of diving to emerging new divers – who may either wish to pursue a competitive stream or simply enjoy the exhilaration of jumping off the high boards.

The program has demonstrated a track record of success and has been instrumental in generating competitive athletes. The PLOUF program sells out quickly, so don’t delay and register your child today! For more information, visit www.forestcitydiving.com.
