The best of both worlds

The YMCA began virtual programming during the second COVID-19 lockdown, and it was such a hit that they’ve continued to offer a variety of virtual offerings to the community. Shown here (left to right): Bethany Stigge and Natalie Minda; Gemma Carleton; Janice MacDonald; Rebecca D'Souza.

During the most recent closure, the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario launched Virtual Group Fitness and Children’s programs to everyone in our community. These programs quickly grew in popularity, and they offered an exciting and interactive way for us to continue to connect with our members.

The program was so successful, in fact, that as we opened our branches on February 19, we continued to provide virtual programming. We are currently offering Group Fitness classes, Children’s Karate, Family Cooking classes, Babysitting courses, and various Social programs – such as a monthly Trivia night. With the branch now open and members coming in to work out, these virtual programs make a great addition to your fitness and social routines – and add even more value to your membership!
