AG London International Camp
AG London’s International Camp and Conference (July 4-8) in 2016 featured the best collection of coaches the club has ever welcomed, including coaches from Arsenal, Watford, Rouge, and Athletico Madrid, as well as from the Croatian, German and Canadian national teams.
The sold-out camp had players from Toronto, Windsor, Kitchener and Sarnia, among other cities. The objectives were four-fold: To expose Canadian youth players to top European coaching; To assess Canadian youth talent level in comparison to European counterparts; To raise the skill level of young Canadian soccer players; and to be the most dynamic and technically advanced soccer development camp in Canada.
Groups of approximately 15 players rotated through the stations, and sessions focused on individual and team refinement of technical and tactical skills. Special goalkeeper training was also conducted each session.
The conference component allowed local coaches to learn from a variety of International instructors, who offered their different philosophies. Visiting coaches introduced their visions during clinics, which all local coaches were invited to attend.
