The London Aquatic Club capped off a busy fall competition schedule with some great racing at the Ontario Junior International (OJI) in Toronto and the Ontario Team Showdown in Brantford the weekend of Dec. 14-16.

Carter Buck, Katie Callon and David Hickey were LAC’s representatives at the OJI, the top short course swimming competition in Canada, with David swimming to five LAC club records.

Meanwhile, LAC sent 75 swimmers to Brantford, with 27 different athletes collecting a total of 71 medals in individual events (24 gold, 25 silver, 22 bronze). The team was led by Samantha Fish, who won gold in six different events, and Sarah Tyrrell, who placed first in three events. Lauren Campbell, Jack Haycock and Niamh O’Leary each won gold in two races.

In Brantford, LAC’s swimmers achieved over 300 new personal bests during the three-day event at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Complex, and the team placed 3rd overall in the team standings.
