Widely regarded as one of the world’s best competitive swimming teachers, Steve Haufler of the Orinda Country Club Swim Sharks, near San Francisco, California, came to London on Oct. 21-22 to deliver a coaching clinic to the London Aquatic Club coaching staff. Steve led 16 of our coaches through five hours of class time and three hours in the pool, teaching skills to some of our youngest swimmers, and giving a talk to a group of LAC parents.
LAC swimmers show well at Nothers Invitational
There was lots of great racing at this year’s Nothers Invitational, held Nov. 24-26, with 700 swimmers from 15 clubs competing. Over 900 LAC individual swims were either personal bests or were successfully swum for the first time; 75 LAC swimmers achieved 100% personal bests; 44 LAC swimmers won a total of 136 medals in individual events, including 33 gold, 49 silver, and 54 bronze; 44 other LAC swimmers achieved at least one top 8 finish in an individual event; and eight swimmers achieved either a first-time Regional or Provincial Championship time standard.
