London Aquatic Club swimmers competed on three consecutive weekends in April, including at national championship events in Montreal from April 5-8, and in Windsor the weekend of April 14-15, as well as at the Markham Pan-Am Pool on April 20-22.

David Hickey and Maggie MacNeil raced at the Canadian Swimming Championships in early April at the Olympic Pool in Montreal, with Maggie being crowned national champion in the 100m butterfly and collecting silver in the 100m backstroke. She was also selected to represent Canada at the Junior Pan Pacific Championships in Fiji in August.

One week later, eight LAC swimmers competed at the Eastern Canadian Championships in Windsor, with Katie Callon and Carter Buck leading the way with top 8 finishes (while achieving personal best times).

Meanwhile, a total of 40 LAC swimmers raced on April 20-22 at the Markham Invitational, and the club was led by 12-year-old Lauren Campbell, who collected one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals and established a club record in the 200m breaststroke.

LAC is preparing to host its annual Hollandia Spring Invitational at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre from May 11-13, where there will be close to 800 swimmers in attendance from across southern Ontario. Go LAC!
