Resolutions for new year, new spring

The LMBL, an over-30 baseball league in London, is looking forward to a return to the diamond after a long layoff due to COVID-19 restrictions. The ‘boys’ of summer are ready to play!

With 2020 now well in the rear-view mirror, and spring (and hopefully baseball) on the horizon, the LMBL is celebrating both a new year and a new season – and we’ve put together 7 Resolutions for a Baseball Player (7 Resolutions because we play 7 innings):

1. Eat healthy. We hear this all the time, but I am asking you to eat healthy ‘like a baseball player.’ A no-hitter is a rarity, so don’t beat yourself up if you give in to that extra dessert. Just bring in the ‘righty’ out of the bullpen and get the next out/make the next meal a healthier one.

2. Get more quality sleep. Nothing witty on this one, it’s really tough, just try and do it.

3. Don’t be a hero. You can’t do it all, all the time. Trust your family/friends to help out more. Just like in baseball, you can’t always throw out the guy at home, so just hit your cut-off person.

4. Do more physical activity.

5. Spend more time outside.

6. Try a new hobby.

7. Take more ‘me-time’ and practice ‘self-care.’

Resolutions 4 to 7 are easily accomplished by simply registering to play in the LMBL! It is a family friendly activity, as we only play one day a week and you get to play with a great bunch of guys outside.
