The 2019 season is shaping up to be another busy year for the London Minor Football Association (LMFA). But while the fall season is still a few months away, offseason programs – open to everyone – continue to provide opportunities for youngsters to improve their skills.

Every Friday night this winter at Centrefield Sports in London, well over 100 girls and boys have been having fun and getting better at the LMFA Indoor Skills Camp. This non-contact camp was the first football skills camp to be introduced in London, and it’s now in its seventh year. The camp has gotten bigger and better every year, and this year’s attendance is the best it’s ever been.

Players take the field for 90 minutes of drills and skills, including agility, footwork, ball handling, and introductions to blocking and tackling. With an emphasis on having fun and teaching fundamentals, the camp is great for new players – and, of course, returning players looking to stay active.

This summer, LMFA will host the 2nd annual Quarterback passing camp for aspiring QBs and receivers. Meanwhile, a brand-new lineman camp will also start up, both at Centrefield Sports.

Looking ahead, registration for the fall house league season is open online for everyone aged 7 to 13.
