On, off-ice training a balancing act

Studies and Twist Athlete results continue to prove that dry-land conditioning is just as important to on-ice performance as those on-ice practices are. The challenge is finding the right balance! 

We hear from coaches and players that their team schedule doesn’t allow time for dry-land conditioning due to practice and game schedules. But we say it’s not about what you have time for, it’s what you make time for. Dry-land conditioning develops physical attributes that cannot be achieved on skates alone; power, agility, speed, strength, balance, rotary power, explosive strength and quickness, quick multi-directional change, fast footwork, reactivity … and learning about full body integration to put it all together on the ice.

Experienced coaching, error detection and correction on dry-land will ensure that athletes are not perfecting imperfections on-ice. Making minor adjustments to body mechanics and movements is the key to helping an athlete become faster, stronger, and more agile. 

Bodies that work are built in the gym so that you can be your best when your best is needed on the ice.
