For the last 27 years, the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada has hosted the premier cycling event and largest MS Bike ride in the province of Ontario. At the end of July, people from all over southwestern Ontario, as well as from around Canada and even the United States, flock to the PwC MS Bike Grand Bend to London start/finish line at the Grand Bend Motorplex to ride bikes of all shapes, sizes, and styles to Western University residences. Not only is it an outstanding weekend of cycling and team comradery, but it’s the first and foremost a fundraiser for Canada’s disease – multiple sclerosis.

In 2017, nearly 1,500 participants at the PwC MS Bike Grand Bend to London fundraised a whopping $1.4 million in support of MS research and support services. The top fundraising and largest team, Team Cowbell, had 117 members who raised $120,790. Doug & Marion’s MS Erasers were the second-largest team (104 members), and also the second-highest fundraising team ($90,879).

Teams make up a majority of the participant base, with 86% of the event participants on 131 teams. All teams have participants of all ages (the youngest individual to take part in the 2017 tour was 7 years old, and the eldest was 88), as well as all abilities, and they come from all different walks of life. Some teams use this as a team-building opportunity for corporate purposes. Other teams are made up of friends and family and act as a fun challenge for all involved. When we say that anyone with a bike and the passion to end MS is all you need, we mean it.

The PwC MS Bike Grand Bend to London is an excellent opportunity to become involved with the community, create a team-building experience, and be part of something meaningful.
