Don Millar likes working with teams. The long-time chiropractor says treating athletes on teams gives him a sense of being part of a family, which you don’t get with individual sports. And teams certainly like working with Don Millar too.
Millar Sports Chiropractic has not only been an advertiser with the London Knights for the past 14 years, but Millar is also involved in treating players in need of chiropractic adjustments throughout the wear and tear of a season.
“I go to Budweiser Gardens once per week after their practice is over, and treat whichever players the trainer has determined need chiropractic treatments that week,” says Millar, who has been in business for 31 years. “I also report to the Medical Room an hour before each home game and right after each home game ends, to see if any players need chiropractic treatment.”
Millar, who is a Fellow of the Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences, says he sees a lot more acute hockey injuries now than he did when he saw hockey players only in his office, and that experience helps him to be more accurate in his diagnosis and treatment regimens.
Besides the Knights, Millar has worked with the Canadian Rowing Team for 20 years, London City Soccer for 10 years, the London Majors baseball team for eight years, and the London Devilettes. He has a great relationship with all of these teams.
“Once they understand what a chiropractor can do for them, the players on all the teams I work with are very receptive to chiropractic treatments.”
