The Middlesex Swimming club was busy in the pool to close out 2015, enjoying a successful last couple of months competing both in London and on the road.

In late November, the water polo club played an exhibition game against the Western Mustangs to help prepare the university squad for its Ontario University Athletics (OUA) championship. The Mustangs beat Middlesex, 16-8, in the friendly, before going on to finish 5th at the provincial event after a 12-5 victory over Queens University (they finished sixth in 2014).

In early December, the Middlesex water polo team traveled to Waterloo for the Kitchener-Waterloo Classic, registering two teams into the tournament: Under 18 and Under 12. Both teams showed great improvement, and the new U12 squad won its first game in team history, beating Guelph 11-3.

Meanwhile, the Middlesex swimmers were in Windsor for the Border City Invitational, which the club co-hosted with the Windsor Aquatic Club. The meet attracted teams from across the province and from the United States. The Middlesex swim team came away with an impressive 104 medals (40 gold, 30 silver, and 34 bronze) while setting 41 new club records. The team also increased its number of provincial qualifiers to 10.

Finally, before Christmas, a dozen Middlesex Masters swimmers headed to Toronto for the Masters North York Gators Pentathlon for a fun and exciting competition before taking a break for the Christmas holidays.
