Ending the Provincial Competitive season with a bang is an understatement for the London Synchronized Swimming Club. LSC has, over the past several seasons, been recognized as one of the smaller clubs in Ontario. And while our athlete talent dominates in some age categories, it was the enthusiasm and commitment of our athletes that put LSC back on the map. There are 21 Provincial Clubs throughout Ontario, with most located in the central and eastern parts of the province. London placed 4th, just behind Gloucester but ahead of ordinarily strong teams like Mississauga, Durham, Toronto and Kitchener-Waterloo.

The reason for our success this year was a simple mix of hard work, commitment and athlete support. Long training hours have paid off, and the athletes proved at the Ontario Age Groups (held May 21–24) why London is a club to be reckoned with. Some highlights:

Alyssa Gosling and Lauren LeBer placed 3rd and 4th, respectively, in 16-20 figures, Bridget Koza (Athlete of the Year) was 10th in 13-15 figures in a pool of 250 swimmers, Ioanna Hopper was 4th in 11-12 figures in a pool of 210 athletes, Sydney Clarke and Allison Major qualified in the top 10 for 13-15 Age Groups, and Alyssa and Lauren placed 2nd and 3rd in 16-20 Solos.

Our duets were equally as impressive, with our 11-12 duo of Abigail Young and Ioanna Hopper placing 7th in a tough field of 20 teams, and Millie Sweet-Boulay and Bridget Koza swimming to a 3rd place routine score and 4th place overall championship. Not to be outdone were our team placements: 16-20: 2nd place, 13 yr team: 1st in age category, and 9th overall in 13-15 team in a staggering pool of 33 provincial teams! And our new Combo team placed 2nd to take home the silver!

Our 11-12 and 10U teams represented LSC with pride and enthusiasm! Many of the girls on these teams were new to competitive this year, and they did remarkably well. LSC is exceptionally proud of these young swimmers.

As we finish another season and take time to reflect, LSC is proud of the accomplishments of our athletes and thank our sponsors and parents for their dedication to our club. Thank you for making LSC one of the best in the province!
