On a chilly April 24th morning, 24 London Youth Whitecaps U10 boys along with family and friends, ran 5K in SW Ontario’s premier running event; the Forest City Road Races. This race support the Thames Valley Children’s Centre, and “we felt it ideal to be involved in a community event that gives a 100% of the net proceeds to a local organization that helps children”.

The U10 boys train year-round and maintaining endurance for the start of the busy spring/summer season is crucial to attain best results. There are various aspects of training a young soccer player, and running is an excellent way to retain their speed, agility and endurance during the “off-season”.

“Our boys are committed and passionate about the game. They have built great friendships over the years training together and this is clear to see not only during soccer games, but also when they are involved in activities outside the soccer pitch”.
