It’s already been a busy 2015 for the London Aquatic Club, as the organization has hosted two competitions, drawing nearly 500 swimmers from across southern Ontario, and also invited 2012 Olympian Martha McCabe to lead a clinic for some of the LAC’s top young swimmers.

Additionally, the club was selected by Swim Ontario (the provincial sport organization for competitive swimming) to be the featured club of a segment produced by TV Ontario called Sports Lab for Kids, which highlights the skills of different sports in each episode.

The LAC had 81 swimmers recently compete at the Western Ontario Regional Championships in Windsor, where the club placed fourth overall in a very close team race. A total of 24 different LAC swimmers earned individual medals.

Next on the calendar are the provincial championships, with the club having qualified 29 swimmers for these events in Etobicoke and Brantford. The club will also be sending a group of 17 swimmers to sunny south Florida in mid-March for a week-long training camp, and will also be represented at the upcoming Pan-American Games Trials in Toronto in early April.
