Gearing up for potential fall season

Matt Black from the Toronto Argos at LMFA indoor camp

Even as our preparation continues for the fall football season, the LMFA is currently monitoring the COVID-19 situation in Ontario. The health and wellbeing of our community is always our top priority, and we want to thank the essential and frontline workers who have been keeping us safe during this difficult time.

No one can say for sure when things will return to normal. We are hopeful for the best, but we’re prepared for anything. So, we are continuing to get ready to take the field in August. Our coaches are preparing game plans, and we have booked field time from the City of London and the TVDSB for practices and games.

Our equipment room is being cleaned, and all our equipment is sanitized using our ozone cleaning machine as we do every year. We will have new procedures in place for equipment pickup to help keep everyone safe, and we will be following any and all guidelines from the government going forward regarding the season. These are challenging times, but we look forward to working together to get the players back on the field as soon as it is safe to do so.

Our summer events, including our annual passing camp and a new lineman camp, are on hold as of now. Please visit our website for updates. We will be posting training tips on our Facebook and Instagram to help you stay active at home.

Registration for the fall house league season is open online for everyone in the Under 10, Under 12 and Under 14 age divisions. Registration deadlines and information will be updated as needed and posted on our website. Please visit www.lmfafootball.ca or call 519-852-4465 for more information.
