It was a very busy summer season for Eurostar Football Academy. In April, our U16 team attended the Mediterranean International Cup near Barcelona, Spain. We were happy to have Generale Giulio Coletta, technical director from S.S.Lazio youth academy, along with three Lazio players join our team.
After observing their skills on the field, four Eurostar players were invited to a Lazio training camp near Rome, Italy from August 23-31: Adam Nalywaiko (‘98), Kian Newell (‘99), Adam Morphy (‘99) and Sosa Emovan (‘00).
In July, our U12 and U14 teams attended the IBER Cup in Estoril, Portugal, and the Costa Blanca Cup in Benidorm, Spain. The players had a great time. For many of them, this was their first opportunity to observe the high technical skill from European professional clubs, which is an important learning experience.
In the meantime, our outdoor season within SAAC continues to progress very well. We have seven teams currently playing in the league, and our U14, U15 and U16 teams are participating in league elimination cup games. The outdoor season continues through to early November.
Eurostar is the only OSA-Recognized Non-Club Academy in the London region. We offer a year-round soccer training program with the goal of developing strong players for the future. The program is managed by Technical Director Luka Shaqiri (UEFA A), and is supported by a team of high-quality coaches.
